Illumination of a Dream

It is said that to dream of catching a fish is an omen of future success. The bigger the fish –they say- the greater the success – and if that fish is moving its fins, you can expect to be freed of worry or responsibility.

This image is inspired by a dream the artist had where a carefree child befriended and rode a friendly fish across a great sea. Being that this dream had such a wonderful meaning behind it the artist felt compelled to recreate the vision of the dream into a permanent work of art!
The artist conceived of the original structure of the image and then created a sketch to guide her work. She photographed individual components in and scanned in additional elements to build the composite image digitally – combining both strategies of design and creating art to generate the final work.
